"Cheney apparently breaks key hunting rule"

The rule referred to: DO NOT SHOOT YOUR BUDDY IN THE FUCKING HEAD.
Ridiculously headlined article here.

Dick Cheney Shoots His Hunting Partner

Thought he was hiding weapons of mass destruction apparently. That, or he's trying to send a message to Scooter Libby.

Big Ups to Sacha Eckes

Sacha Eckes, who began contributing her brilliant comic Life Is Good to the pages of Mesh last issue, has been picked up by the Chronicle's new 96 Hours section. I stopped by 111 Minna for the 96 Hours launch party, but thanks to a sore throat, achy bones, and the overall feeling that it wasn't really my scene, I headed home quickly. I'm stoked that Sacha's getting that wide exposure, next is the animated series... You can still see the more twisted versions of Life is Good in the pages of Mesh.

Open Source Web Music Player

For those of you who use Firefox (and those of you who don't should, even if you're not tech-savvy. I'm not, but it's just way easier to use and has much better features than Internet Explorer), you probably know the benefits of open source technology, which allows users to continually tweak the code of a program therefore creating a better program. A San Francisco company, Pioneers of the Inevitable LLC, just launched an open source Web music player, Songbird, which it hopes will rival and overcome the dominance of iTunes. This could mean much easier music downloading and listening. You can download Songbird now, but it's in its very early stages, what the company is calling its Proof-Of-Concept version.

George Bush Still Doesn't Care About Black People

Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery ripped into Bush today at Coretta Scott King's funeral. He received a standing ovation after doing so. Read about it and watch the video here.

Bono, George, George, Bono

More bizarre or less bizarre than Elvis & Nixon?

...well, less bizarre, but still bizarre.

Noise Pop 2006: March 28th to April 2nd

The good folks at Noise Pop decided to move the stellar San Francisco festival to late-March, early April from it's usual February spot for its 14th year. From the press release: Early confirmations include Feist, Two Gallants, Thursday, Minus The Bear, The National, ISIS, Rogue Wave, Kid Koala, The Dirtbombs, We Are Scientists, and the San Francisco debut of a collaboration between Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden and legendary drummer Steve Reid.

Oh-hell-yeah I'm at that Isis show! This year the festival also promises more electronic music and events focusing on the Bay Area's literary scene. Maybe the JT Leroys will show up.
