...or, as Daniel Taylor put it,
"David Stern is a Pussy Ass Bitch." If you're a fan, and you're throwing things at players on the court, guess what, you deserve to get punched in the face. Everyone's talking about how shocking this is, but it's not like Artest pulled out a knife and started stabbing people. He didn't even pick anything up and throw it back at the fans. He just threw a few bad punches, that didn't really connect. Apparently it was this guy, Jon Green, that threw the cup:

.
Artest then jumps into the stands and attacks the guy standing next to Green:

.
I watched FOX News on Sunday right before the news conference where Stern announced the suspensions, including a season-ending suspension for Artest. They replayed a 2-minute loop of fight highlights for over 40 minutes! And it was fantastic, except that they kept saying what a travesty it was. If it's such a travesty, why are you showing it over and over and over again? You're showing over and over and over again because it's great. It makes great television. This guy that Artest is going after was screaming his head off at Artest, I'm sure filled with profanities, trying to look tough as all hell. As soon as Artest jumped those chairs, his face switched immediately to that look of shock and fear that you see above, and boy, was it ever hilarious.
If I were NBA commissioner, Artest would be receiving a $15,000 bonus for every punch he threw. No one was paying attention to the NBA before this happened. Now, it's getting coverage from all the major networks and is being talked about by everybody. You can't buy publicity like that.
The media talks about this incident like it's the end of the world,
like Phil Taylor from SI.com. He says that this is evidence of a "growing divide between players and fans." Um, no. It's evidence of some drunk ass fans acting the fool and getting called on it. I say, more fights in the NBA, not less.
