Ron Artest is My Hero...

...or, as Daniel Taylor put it, "David Stern is a Pussy Ass Bitch." If you're a fan, and you're throwing things at players on the court, guess what, you deserve to get punched in the face. Everyone's talking about how shocking this is, but it's not like Artest pulled out a knife and started stabbing people. He didn't even pick anything up and throw it back at the fans. He just threw a few bad punches, that didn't really connect. Apparently it was this guy, Jon Green, that threw the cup:
.

Artest then jumps into the stands and attacks the guy standing next to Green:.

I watched FOX News on Sunday right before the news conference where Stern announced the suspensions, including a season-ending suspension for Artest. They replayed a 2-minute loop of fight highlights for over 40 minutes! And it was fantastic, except that they kept saying what a travesty it was. If it's such a travesty, why are you showing it over and over and over again? You're showing over and over and over again because it's great. It makes great television. This guy that Artest is going after was screaming his head off at Artest, I'm sure filled with profanities, trying to look tough as all hell. As soon as Artest jumped those chairs, his face switched immediately to that look of shock and fear that you see above, and boy, was it ever hilarious.

If I were NBA commissioner, Artest would be receiving a $15,000 bonus for every punch he threw. No one was paying attention to the NBA before this happened. Now, it's getting coverage from all the major networks and is being talked about by everybody. You can't buy publicity like that.

The media talks about this incident like it's the end of the world, like Phil Taylor from SI.com. He says that this is evidence of a "growing divide between players and fans." Um, no. It's evidence of some drunk ass fans acting the fool and getting called on it. I say, more fights in the NBA, not less.

Evil Dead Again

Apparently Bruce Campbell will be reviving his role as Ash from the Evil Dead in a remake of the first movie. Unfortunately Sam Raimi's not going to be directing it, just producing.

Sam Raimi, the cult-horror film director currently responsible for the tremendously successful Spider-Man movie franchise, has now decided to revisit his roots.

In a move possibly triggered off by the recent revival in horror interest leading to films like Shaun Of The Dead, The Grudge, and Saw, Variety has announced Raimi and his original producing partners Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell joining forces all over again to produce a remake of the smash hit The Evil Dead.

Gavin and Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom

In case you missed it, Gavin Newsom and his wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom seem to think they're the Kennedys. They even posed for a glamorous photo spread in Harper's Bazaar. Then Kimberly allegedly (of course she did) made some lewd remarks at the Empire State Pride Agenda dinner in New York a few weeks back. From the always entertaining Matier and Ross:

The laughs were a lot more on the adult side in New York when Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom took the stage at Thursday night's big Empire State Pride Agenda fund-raiser.

Guilfoyle Newsom was a last-minute sub for her husband at the gay rights event, which drew 1,100 guests. By all accounts, Guilfoyle Newsom -- who lives in New York and is a regular on Court TV -- gave an inspired speech.

But what really brought the house down was when she started talking about her hubby.

"I know that many of you wanted to see my husband and some of you had questions out there,'' Guilfoyle Newsom said.

"Is he hot? Yeah.

"Is he hung? Yeah.

"Is he (she waved her hand to suggest bisexual)? Not unless you can give a better (she mimicked eating a banana) than me,'' Guilfoyle Newsom said.

The mayoral bride's remarks have become the talk of San Francisco City Hall.

"You know we believe in open government and we support full disclosure,'' said Newsom press aide Peter Ragone, tongue firmly in cheek.

For those of you looking for news on Newsom and Ruby Rippey-Tourk, here you go.

Just stupidity? Or was the fix in?

Bush received almost 4,000 votes from a precinct in Ohio that has only 600 registered voters. Here's an article I found from ABC AUSTRALIA:

Kerry Ahead in Early Exit Polls?

According to Reuters and www.exit-poll.net (which is down due to heavy traffic as I write this) Kerry has a slight lead in early exit polls in some swing states (Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania). (The stock market is also taking a dive as this news slips out.) None of this probably means shit.

Mac Dre Killed in Kansas City

Vallejo rapper Mac Dre was shot to death in Kansas City last night. My friend Pete (among others) used to bump his music all the time when I was in high school. "2 Hard 4 tha Fuckin' Radio" is one of the best songs to come out of the Vallejo rap scene. In addition, Mac Dre put out the Rompalation albums, which showcased Vallejo rappers. I remember listening to "Twist of Funk" off the first Rompalation about a million times in Pete's "Pimp my Ride" Toyota.

He also was arrested for being part of The Romper Room Gang, a group of rappers that robbed banks. He served five years in prison in the late '90s.
