geek alert...

It's been a while since I've done a lot of things that I want to be, and should be doing more often. Like play bass. I've hardly had the time to pick up my bass since I moved, and it's really weighing on me. I play a little at work 'cause there are instruments and amplifiers all over the place there. But it's not the same, mostly because I don't have the time to really practice at work because, you know...I'm at work. So I've been listening to a lot bass-centric music lately trying to either 1) inspire myself, or 2) guilt myself into getting back into a regular practicing regimen. Looking for some real fuel for the fire, I did a search for Motown bass god James Jamerson on YouTube.com and came up with this dope Marvin Gaye live performance. Check Jamerson sitting on the stool behind Gaye, looking super laid back, then watch his plucking hand and listen to the bass line in the song. It's un-fucking-real.
