cred shine.

About six months ago, I wrote a story for EQ magazine—a cool, kinda nerdy recording and production magazine—about a rap group called 4th25, made up of U.S. soldiers who recorded an entire album while on duty in Baghdad, Iraq. The story, "Life During Wartime: The war zone vocal booth and other harrowing tales of survival and recording in Baghdad, Iraq," was finally printed in the magazine's December 05 issue (scooping both Rolling Stone and MTV on the story...bitches). It was cool to see the piece in print, just 'cause the interview was cool and I think the finished story turned out pretty well. But what's even cooler is that the article was also read by Jack Endino, one of my favorite rock producer / engineers of all time, and he actually wrote into the magazine and mentioned, among other things, the Iraq piece (click the image to see a readable version of his letter in the latest issue):

"...a journalistic coup..." Fuck yeah. Now I'm super fucking stoked on the piece.
