Senator Larry Craig Says He Will Stay in Office

Larry Craig, the hypocritical, right-wing, closeted/self-hating gay senator busted apparently trying to solicit some man-on-man action in a Minneapolis airport bathroom, just announced that he will serve the remainder of his term. Even though he has one of the worst voting records in the Senate, he’s totally right in choosing not to resign. He shouldn’t have to resign for something that has no bearing on his ability to do his job. His fellow republicans are pissed, well, except for Arlen Specter, who said he should keep his job, because they don’t want any gay senators, especially not gay republican senators. Yetthey weren’t pissed when fellow republican Senator David Vitter decided to stay in the Senate after admitting to going to a female prostitute. Vitter’s just as big a hypocrite, having said that Bill Clinton should have resigned the Presidency because he had an adulterous affair. Republican senators actually gave Vitter a standing ovation when he returned to the Senate. So, kids, heterosexual adultery: a-okay! Homosexual adultery: not so much.

Mr. Craig obviously has a psychological disorder. Why would anyone want to stick around when everyone in Washington and the nation questions his integrity? It’s beyond belief!
Having said that, though, I’m delighted and I hope he sticks around for a long time. Mr. Craig is just another hypocritical, closeted, gay, Republican in a long list of hypocritical, closted, gay, Republicans.
I would imagine other senators, especially the hypocritical, closeted, gay Republican ones will avoid Mr. Craig. They’re nervous and they should be. Previous conversations about pretty movie starlets, the wifey, and the grandkids will be kept to a bare minimum now.
I have a feeling Mr. Craig won’t be around long. No doubt other hypocritical, closeted, gay, Republicans will be banging the drums the loudest for his swift departure.

Mr. Craig’s attorney appeared on the Today program this morning and was interviewed by Matt Lauer.
A month ago Mr. Craig initially stated that he would go quietly and not burden the Senate with this sordid matter when there’s other much more important issues facing this country. Now Mr. Craig has changed his mind and he will pursue this sordid matter in the legal courts. Mr. Craig has expressed his opinion that he can STILL be an effective senator.
Yeah, Mr. Craig has been a very effective senator rubber-stamping every bill denying millions of Americans the basic right of marriage. Keep up the good work, Mr. Craig.
What’s at issue here is the fact that Mr. Craig can’t move on with his life and accept the fact his life will no longer be the same. He must own up to his mistakes but he’s not willing to do that.
George W. Bush can’t move on with his life and accept the fact that his life will no longer be the same. He must own up to his mistakes but he’s not willing to do that.
Unfortunately both of these misguided politicians are living in a fantasy world where they don’t have to face the music, and the consequences, to their mistakes and miscaluclations.
