Just got the word from the highly recommended Bandega.com that Iron & Wine will be playing at the Oakland Paramount, Friday, November 30th. Tickets go on sale on Sunday at 10AM. Mr. Beam (author of one of my favorite profane song lyrics: We were born to fuck each other, one way or another) is touring in support of his new album, The Shepard’s Dog, which he told The Independent, was inspired by the confusion he felt when Bush was re-elected. What a shitty, shitty day that was.
If you haven’t checked out Bandega yet, it’s basically a service lets you pick which bands you’re into and then notifies you of upcoming concerts and on-sales by e-mail. The site also features interviews, like this one with Zach from Rogue Wave.
