My Final Post On Kenneth Eng

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, many people out there have dug up a bunch of rambling insanity from our good friend Kenneth Eng including this nugget from Eng’s Amazon blog:

I don’t know about you, but I masturbate all the time. It’s not going to affect me in any way, aside from making me need to take baths more often.

that Wired included in this post on Eng’s bizarre behavior. They also point to some of Eng’s writings that talk about how he almost never leaves his house. Hmmm, intellectual superiority, almost never leaves his house? I think Eng may be the Zodiac. I found the Wired link via Awww Damn’s post on Eng’s dragon literature. I’m too busy dying from some sort of evil sore throat/fever/night sweats virus to write much more, it’s time for my twelfth nap of the day.

Strawberry Shortcake Is a Dirty Two-Bit Ho

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

While dining with friends at Aziza recently, we got to talking about childhood toys. My friends were horrified to learn that I tortured my Barbie dolls by chopping off their hair and ripping out their limbs. What did you expect from a short little brunette?

I confessed that my favorite dolls as a kid were the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Of course. I loved their little pets, and I loved that they had food names and I loved that they smelled nice. And they were cute. Like me.

Flash forward to Jon and I roaming the toy aisles of an unnamed shiteous store to kill time when we were early to the airport.

What I saw made me shriek in horror and, quite frankly, freak the fuck out.

Kenneth Eng in AsianWeek: Why He Hates Blacks

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Kenneth Eng

AsianWeek, published by the Fang family, who did their best to run The Examiner into the ground, bills itself as the “Voice of Asian America”. I think most Asian Americans would find it surprising to learn that they hate black people as AsianWeek’s Kenneth Eng does. Eng, perhaps taking a cue from Timmy Hardaway, just comes right out with it in a column, creatively titled, “Why I Hate Blacks”. Above is the actual graphic that goes with this moron’s column. What’s amazing to me is not that Eng wrote this column, but that apparently the editors of AsianWeek thought that it would be a-okay to publish it. AsianWeek took this column off of its Web site, though not his previous columns “Proof That Whites Inherently Us” and “Why I Hate Asians”, but don’t worry, we’ve got it for you below after the jump.

7:00 pm

“It all started off when I got my first record in the summer before 4th grade… Kiss Alive II on double vinyl with the cut-out corner. It blew my mind and I just wanted to play guitar like Ace Frehley, so I used to stand in front of the mirror with my sister’s tennis racket and look at myself rock out to “Shock Me.” Music has followed me around eversince which has been a blessing and a curse, depending on how you look at it,” writes Charles Gonzalez who plays tomorrow, Friday evening, at the Make-Out Room during the happy hour show with De Vez En Quando.

South Bay Record Collector Drops Gems

By: David Ma

Commercially released or homemade, mixtapes are seldom exceptional. They usually inundate you with mediocrity or just go unnoticed. But the clamor is fleeting when something like Audio emerges.

Adrian Mendoza [who goes by Age] is a record collector from the South Bay whose latest mixtape, Audio, elbows it’s way above recent releases. But this shouldn’t imply that the project is conceptually new. “As far as it being different from other mixtapes, it really isn’t,” Admits Age. “If anything, it’s a personal bond to share music with your friends and show them what you are into. I just wanted to hear a lot of these songs and it just happened to all fit together.” (more…)

20 Goto 10 Hello World Opening Photos

These phones were hooked up to an MP3 player that played people’s hacked into conversations and voicemails. Apparently, there is a number you can call to break into people’s cell phones, and the folks down at 20 Goto 10 know what it is. The charts on the wall (below) show people calling other people through the hacked number.

Ruby Rippey-Tourk’s $10K Pay Day

Friday, February 16th, 2007

The woman Gavin Newsom was Tourkin‘, Ruby Rippey-Tourk, received a lump sum $10,000 payment for unused sick leave when she left her job in the mayor’s office. That’s in addition to the 125 days of sick leave that she used in the three years she worked in the Mayor’s office. And the restaurant owner’s are complaining about the new sick leave laws? The Gavster says that this was all legal. Uh huh. If this is legal, I think it’s time to change some laws.

Here’s Dan Noyes’ take on it.
